Every year in November, Movies that Matter and IDFA present the Movies that Matter Day, where we screen a selection of recent human rights documentaries. Each screening comes with an expansion programme in the form of introductions, debates and Q&A's with (in)ternational guests.
During the previous edition of the Movies that Matter day, on November 22nd 2015, we screened four exceptional documentaries: Guantanamo's Child: Omar Khadr, I Am Sun Mu, Lampedusa in Winter and Censored Voices.
After the screening of Guantanamo's Child: Omar Khadr, there was a Q&A with the directors of the film, Patrick Reed and Michelle Shephard, and Omar Khadr's lawyer, Dennis Edney. You can listen to a podcast of the Q&A here.
During the Movies that Matter Festival - from 18-26 March 2016, ten of the best recent human rights documentaries will be screened in the IDFA Selection.
