Students have their own dedicated competition programme at the Movies that Matter Festival. Students' Choice was inaugurated in 2009 in a joint venture with the Hague University of Applied Sciences (De Haagse Hogeschool). A panel of university students will choose three films and/or documentaries from the festival's offering.
The director of the winning film will receive the Students' Choice Award and a €1,000 prize at the Award Ceremony. The jury members briefly motivate their choice prior to the screening of each film.
During the festival, the members of the jury will explain their selection by giving a short introduction before the screening of these films.
