The Movies that Matter Festival in The Hague is the international film and debate festival about peace and justice in the International City of Peace and Justice. The festival takes place from 18-26 March.
Students have their have their own competition at the Movies that Matter Festival: Students' Choice.
And thus, students have their own Students' Choice Jury. Each year, a number of THUAS students select three films from the festival programme that they think address important social issues. At the end of the festival the jury will grant the winning film director the Students' Choice Award.
Join the Jury
Are you a film fan? Are you also interested human rights issues? Would you like to have a look 'behind the screens' of a professional film festival, meet interesting film directors, activists, journalists, other festival guests and team members of the festival? If so, join the Students' Choice jury!
How does it work?
During the Christmas holidays of this year you will watch eight to ten selected films. Also you will attend two jury meetings in December and January. And off course be available to enjoy the entire festival-week.
At the Award Ceremony during the festival the Students' Choice Jury will grant the winning film director the Students' Choice Award and a €1,500 prize. The jury members briefly motivate their choice prior to all screenings of the 3 nominated films.
All jury members will receive an all-inclusive festival pass.
