In 2017 the Movies that Matter Festival takes place from Friday, 24th March - Saturday, 1st April.

The Movies that Matter Festival presents approximately seventy human rights feature films and documentaries from all over the world. Many films will be screened for the first and only time in The Netherlands. The majority of the films are English spoken or subtitled.

Most film screenings are followed by an in-depth programme, which can be an introduction, debate or talk show, in the presence of international guests, including human rights defenders, film makers, politicians and journalists.

Besides the two main sections, A Matter of ACT and Camera Justitia, the festival features several other programme components.
