Educational Programme

This year's youth education programme of the festival, the Young Amnesty Film Days, took place in both The Hague and Amsterdam. Between 20 and 26 March 2014, several screenings were scheduled for high school students. After each screening a discussion was held with the director and/or an expert on the film's subject or the country where the film takes place. This enables students to ask questions and share their experience with each other and with the guest speakers.

Educational materials to prepare and/or evaluate the screenings in class were available free of charge. The film screenings and the educational material can be adapted to different subjects, ages and levels of education.

Movies that Matter @ School

Movies that Matter @ School advises and assists schools on presenting human rights films in school. Showings can be accompanied by follow-up material and sessions, such as extensive study packets, speakers and workshops. The most elaborate package is the All Rights Film Festival, in which we present multiple films with a variety of follow-up programmes. The education department also advises NGO's, heritage institutions and other organisations targeting young people.
