Walker, Mos Def and Snoop Dogg, among others. Journalist and Black Panther activist Mumia Abu-Jamal was arrested in Philadelphia on December 9th 1981 for the murder of a police officer. At the same day, some thousands of miles further on, William Francome was born. Almost
a quarter of a century later, William decides to start an investigation of the case of the death-penalty convict Mumia Mumia has always maintained he is innocent, but is still waiting on ‘“death row’. In the meantime is has turned into one of the most famous death penalty convicts. The European Parliament, Amnesty International and world leaders such as Nelson Mandela have expressed their support for Mumia. In Prison My Whole Life is not only a portrait of the militant
Mumia, but also of a decades long struggle for equality and justice. Newly discovered footage and evidence cast a new light on Mumia’s case.
