Theater aan het Spui Kleine Zaal
In Gaza Surf Club we follow two young surfers in the Gaza Strip surfing the big waves. What many see as an athletic challenge at sea, the young residents at Gaza view not just as an escape from everyday misery, but also as an expression of hope and rebelliousness. With Geert Verhoeff, former-coordinator of the surf village F.A.S.T in Scheveningen, we speak about the film, the social value of surfing. Ahmed Sarhan, actor and theatre maker from Gaza, speaks about daily life in the region.
After the screening, the surfband Pinata plays in the Foyer of Theater aan het Spui.
