Iris Lammertsma will give an introduction to this NL premiere, afterwards Froukje Jansen will do a Q&A with director Daniel Abma, Alex Bakker and Marlon Buncamper.
Daniel Abma is studied cultural sciences and is now filmmaker. “Transit Havana” is his first long documentary.
Alex Bakker is a historian specialized in transgender-issues. He combines his personal background as a transman with an academic perspective. He did research for several movies including 'I am a woman now' by Michiel van Erp and 'Transgender pioniers'. He was also involved in the exhibitions 'Ik M/V' in Museum Het Dolhuys in Haarlem en 'Transmission' in the Amsterdam Museum. In March 2014 he published his biography 'Mijn valse verleden' at Uitgeverij Nieuw Amsterdam.
Marlon Buncamper is a plastic surgeon in a very broad sense. He is specialized in transgender and genital surgeries. Next to that, he also focuses on breast and cosmetic surgery. Since 2010 he has been working as a plastic surgoen at VUMC and at the Aesthetic Center Amsterdam.
Froukje Jansen is a programmer, journalist, presentator and moderator, driven mostly by social relevance. She worked for TV programs such as 6Pack, Llinke Soep and 3 op Reis and for broadcasters like Llink, NOS, and VARA. Apart from that, Froukje is member of the supervisory board of the Waka Waka Foundation.
