Amnesty! When They Are All Free
dinsdag 29 maart 2011 - 13:30
In May Amnesty International exists fifty years. The Movies that Matter Festival celebrates this with the international symposium ‘Human Rights: The Last Utopia?' and the world premiere When They Are All Free, Tuesday March 29.
At the symposium speakers will critically reflect on the modern history and conceptual development of human
rights and on their impact. They will also assess the work and future agenda of the human rights movement. Will human rights prove to be a growing power or will they turn out to be just another Utopia?
The speakers are Daniel P.L. Chong, Marie-Bénédicte Dembour, Costas Douzinas and Jan Eckel.
The symposium is fully booked.
During the symposium, fragments will be shown of:
- The Invisible Wall: director Kimon Tsakiris, camera Yiannis Kassis, sound Aris Kafentzis, editor Tatiana Panigyri, production Kimon Tsakiris & Panos Adamopoulos.
- Silent Killer by John de Graaf and Hana Jindrova
- The Green Wave by Ali Samadi Ahadi
