One of the young pop musicians from the film is coming from Teheran to perform his music at the festival.
No One Knows About Persian Cats tells the story of two young Iranian pop musicians from Teheran who grow weary of censorship and the government's ban on Western music.
Kurdish-Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi, one of the festival's guest of honour, recorded the footage for his music film last year without obtaining the required permission. He shot the film in only two weeks, in terror the whole time. He used an S12K camera for the footage, because all 35mm equipment is state property in Iran. No permission means no film - and no permission means no music.
