Israeli filmmaker Micha Peled is one of the few people to emigrate to America by hitchhiking. Before embarking on his career as a filmmaker, he explored a wide variety of professions: from clothing importer to travel guide in the jungles of Thailand. Peled views globalisation as one of the most important issues facing today’s society. His trilogy on globalisation addresses this issue. The previous films in the trilogy are: Store Wars: When Wal-Mart Comes to Town and Cina Blue. Bitter Seeds is the third and final chapter.
