Introduction by Victoria Belopsky from Moscow's International Film Festival on Human Rights “Stalker”.
Victoria Belopolskaya was born in 1963 in Moscow. After graduating from the Moscow State University (Faculty of Journalism, film critics workshop) in 1986 she began her career as a film critic.
Presently, she is а commissioning editor for documentaries at the Russian State Culture TV-channel, a programming director of the International Documentary Film Festival Flahertiana (Russia, the Urals, Perm), and a programming consultant for dos of Message to Man IFF (Russia, Saint Petersburg). For 10 years Ms. Belopolskaya acts as a scout for the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). The leading Russian film specialist/ expert on documentaries, Ms. Belopolskaya advises and programs for a number of national and international film festivals. Ms. Belopolskaya is a member of the Russian Academy of Film Arts and was a member of many international jury’s. The documentary program "Urals Phenomenon" completed by Ms. Belopolskaya got a special mention of the FIPRESCI Jury at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1991. She was also awarded with the national prizes "Green Apple-Golden Leaf", nomination "The Best Film Critic" in 1998, and "White Elephant" bestowed by Russian Guild of Film Critics and Film Experts.
