Introduction by filmmaker Madeleine Sackler. After the screening the ACT talkshow in Theater aan het Spui on new types of activism. With, among others, Andrei Sannikov (former candidate for President in Belarus).
Madeleine Sackler is the director and producer of the film Dangerous Acts Starring the Unstable Elements of Belarus. This is her third documentary. She is also co-founder of M&J Creativ, a new media company that produces long interactive content.
Andrei Sannikov has been a public figure in Belarus for twenty years, but he gained international fame when he wanted to become president. He was second in the elections, which was rigged widely. After the elections Sannikov and most other presidential candidates took part in a mass demonstration. He was arrested and sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Sannikov received amnesty in 2012 and moved to the UK. Read more about Andrei Sannikov.
