The Award Ceremony will be the occasion for showing the closing film and presenting the awards. This festive evening will be opened by Jozias van Aartsen, Mayor of The Hague.
The final film of the festival will be Settled, an intimate and respectful documentary by young Chinese filmmaker Shan Zuolong. He portrays the life of a remarkable 83-year-old Chinese man.
After the film, the awards will be presented. The two Golden Butterflies and the Silver Butterfly will be handed out in the main programmes, A Matter of ACT and Camera Justitia respectively. There are also two youth competitions: the MovieSquad All Rights Award and the Students’ Choice Award. The festival-goers can also pick a public favourite at this festival. The maker of the public choice award will receive the VARAgids Audience Award.
Paula Udondek will host the evening.
