Amnesty International and Movies that Matter Festival bring a homage to the ten guests of the A Matter of ACT programme during the A Matter of ACT Night.

 

Prior to the viewing of Tibet in Song, director, musician and former prisoner of conscience Ngawang Choephel will tell about the current situation in Tibet, the role that music plays in Tibetan culture and the repercussions of Chinese oppression in Tibet.

 

Princess Mabel van Oranje will be present at the A Matter of ACT Night. Taco Ruighaver, director of the festival, will hand over the first copy of a book about the work and lifes of the ten human rights activists to princess Mabel. She will meet the activists at a dinner prior to the A Matter of ACT Night.

Princess Mabel is CEO of The Elders, a board of world leaders and other prominent persons like Nelson Mandela, Aung San Su Kyi anp Jimmy Carter. Last year princess Mabel opened the Movies that Matter Festival.

 

Furthermore there will be an interview with human rights ambassador Arjan Hamburger and a musical performance of Zorita. The A Matter of ACT Night will be moderated by Jeroen Kramer and Victoria Koblenko.

 

Theater aan het Spui will crank the volume after 9:30 pm with performances by artists like Haarlem-based Chef Special a band that raps with a funky twist. DJ collective Tabass-co from The Hague will also be there, getting the crowd on its feet with saucy dance beats.
