Dutch presenter Menno Bentveld debates with Ton Zwaan (Genocide-expert), Yusuf Sudrajat (founder of 1965tribunal.org, his grandfather was a leader of the Communist party in Indonesia) and Kees Schaap, director of Bloedbroeders. With a performance by Sander and Juliet Koopman (17 and 18 years old, creators of the title song from Bloedbroeders).
When does a war really end? Even after the bombs stop dropping, and troops are retreating, the atrocities live on in people’s minds. How do you help a people recover from war trauma? In most countries, the realities of war, genocide and violence from the past are still very real to this day. Present Past offers a series of documentaries and fiction films about how past wars and conflicts still resonate in today’s world.
