The seventh edition of Open Air Cinema 2016 at Human House in The Hague takes place on August 18th with the film Dheepan.
To escape the civil war in Sri Lanka, a former Tamil Tiger, a woman and a girl pretend to be a family so that they can be registered as refugees in France.
They end up in a cheerless neighbourhood in a suburb of Paris, where drug gangs rule. Dheepan starts to work as a janitor and Yalini finds a job nursing an elderly man. But building up a new life with people you don’t know, in an unsafe area crawling with criminals, turns out to be a tough challenge for the small family.
