Saturday the 26th of March the Movies that Matter Festival presents an interview with the Irakese-Dutch filmmaker Mohamed Al-Daradji and a debate about the shameless trade in young African soccer players with among others filmmaker Pascale Lamche and Bart de Liefde, member of Parliament for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).
After the screening of Iraq: War, Love, God and Madness at 2pm actress and columnist of de Volkskrant Nazmiye Oral interviews director Mohamed Al-Daradji. The idealistic filmmaker returned to his home country Iraq to make his dream come true under bizarre circumstances: to make his feature film Ahlaam.
After the screening of Black Diamond, at 7pm, a debate follows with filmmaker Pascale Lamche, Bart de Liefde, member of Parliament for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) (spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior) and Roberto Branco Martins, director of Pro Agent, an organisation representing the interests of players' agents.
