Release ‘Omar m'a tuer’ in cinemas
Omar m'a tuer is a touching story about justice, based on true events, that is considerd to be the ‘Dreyfus’- affair of the 20th century. It was the official Moroccan entry for the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. In Marseille, 1994, the Moroccan gardener Omar Raddad is sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder of his employer, a wealthy widow. Her body was found in the cellar of her mansion. Written on a wall in blood sits an accusation: “Omar killt me”. A journalist, who is convinced of Omar’s innocence, starts his research into one of the most shocking injustices of the last two decades. His conclusion is that there are two kinds of justice: one for the rich and one for the poor. Omar m'a tuer will be released in cinemas in The Netherlands on the 19th of April.
