Well-known Cuban dissident and blogger Yoani Sánchez will be one of the prominent guests of Amnesty International’s main programme, A Matter of ACT, at the Movies that Matter Festival. Two weeks ago, she received a passport allowing her to travel abroad. In 2007, Sánchez set up a critical blog about daily life in Cuba, for which she was arrested on several occasions. Being denied permission to leave the country, she was unable to receive numerous international prizes. Yoani Sánchez is featured in the film Forbidden Voices, directed by Barbara Miller.
