Between January and August 2014, film director Eliane Raheb organises the distribution of her award-winning documentary Sleepless Nights, about the enforced disappearances during the war of 1975-1990 in Lebanon. As such, Mrs. Raheb aims to encourage a national dialogue about the country’s violent past, trying to start a process of truth and reconciliation in Lebanon. With the assistance of local NGOs and clubs, she shows the film to people in seven different regions of Lebanon, including two refugee camps. There will also be screenings in five major universities. A total of about 5,000 visitors are expected.
