After the 10th edition of Ciné Droit Libre Film Festival in Ouagadougou in June 2014, the organisers take a selection of high-quality, accessible films to other parts of Burkina Faso. Between September and December 2014, after the rainy season, open-air screenings will take place in seven remote cities. The films to be screened are on a variety of human rights topics, including human rights abuses, democracy, corruption, women’s rights and the importance of good education. Discussions will be held after each screening.
The project will reach about 15,000 people in peripheral areas of Burkina Faso. Especially youth are invited to join the screenings and discussions. Filmmakers, journalists and human rights defenders will also attend these screenings. http://www.semfilms.org
