What does the Arab world look like through the eyes of a Syrian, Palestinian or Algerian film director? Festival Cinema Arabe offers a stage for Arab film in the Netherlands, showing the reality and history of the Arab world. This seventh edition of the festival starts on Tuesday, April 21 in Rialto Filmhuis Amsterdam. This years' festival will shed light on the ongoing conflict in Syria and Palestine and the development of feminism in countries like Egypt and Tunisia.
The films are screened in Amsterdam. A selection will be screened until May 3 in LantarenVenster in Rotterdam, Filmhuis The Hague and Lumière Cinema Maastricht. On 18 and 19 April NPO Cultura broadcasts a number of films from previous editions.
