All year round, all over the country

Besides the Movies that Matter Festival, we also organise a national film and debate programme in ten Dutch movie theatres, as well as an annual human rights film programme at IDFA, the world’s largest documentary festival. Movies that Matter offers educational programmes for primary schools, secondary schools and higher education and is often involved in the organisation of film screenings by third parties. We also support projects outside The Netherlands that are geared towards the screening of human rights films: movies that matter, where they matter.
Movies that Matter Events

Throughout the year Movies that Matter organises special screenings, among which previews and lunch screenings. For more information.
Movies that Matter Festival

The annual Movies that Matter Festival is the international film and debate festival of Amnesty International. In 2010 this festival will take place from the 25th to the 31st of March in and around Filmhuis Den Haag. See www.moviesthatmatterfestival.nl for all information about the festival.
Nationwide film and debate programme

In collaboration with movie theatres and local Amnesty groups, Movies that Matter organises monthly film screenings in ten Dutch cities, followed by interviews or debates with a variety of guests. Each month we present am eye opening feature film or documentary which is usually exclusive to this programme. With guests like politicians, experts and human rights activists, this leads to compelling discussions in which the audience has ample opportunity to ask questions and join the discussions.

Movies that Matter at IDFA

Every year, Movies that Matter presents a special selection of human rights films at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, the world's largest documentary film festival. The screenings of the selected documentaries are followed by an interview with the director of the film. We also present a special audience afternoon with films and debates focusing on a current human rights theme. Visit the IDFA website.

Movies that Matter DVD series

You can also watch Movies that Matter in the comfort of your own home. Each year, in cooperation with national newspaper Trouw and Amnesty International, we present a new DVD box set in the Movies that Matter series. Each box set is a selection of five internationally acclaimed feature films and documentaries about people with ideals. Movies that Matter also presents a special youth-oriented box set: Right On! Box sets can be ordered online on www.amnesty.nl/webshop
