Sunday night various musical performances take place in the foyer of Theater aan het Spui. Hip hop and soul tunes of Sister Fa, K-Nell, Scor.pi.o and Wonda Wendy after the world premiere of Surprising Europe and the screening of Sarabah..

Senegal has the biggest hip hop community in Africa, which is mainly concentrated in Dakar. Although she now lives in Berlin, Sister Fa is the most prominent female rap artist of the African hip hop scene. Sarabah is her international debut album. The homonymic documentary, a personal portrait of Sister Fa, will be screened at the festival.

Christian Steve Nana a.k.a. Scor.pi.o was born on October 27, 1985 in Yaoundé (West Africa) and moved in 1993 with his mother to the Netherlands, with the promise of a secure future. Unfortunately the story went different, making it by various laws not possible to receive the necessary residence documents and they had to travel for more than 10 years illegal in the Netherlands.

Scor.pi.o raps about his African background, faith, love and society. But with his versatility as a rapper he also likes to make light-hearted songs about beautiful ladies. 's sound is honest, his lyrics are intense and convincing.

Wonda Wendy is a French Gabonese artist. Her music is a mix of hip hop, soul and reggae. Wendy is very diverse as she writes, composes and performs her own music. Growing up she's been surrounded with music as her father is a musician. Wendy first hit the music scene in the mid-'90s as part of the all-female Hip Hop trio S'kira. Since then, she has released her own music and her first solo album came out in 2006. Wendy has worked with many respected artists like Saian Supa Crew, Tairo and Admiral T. Last year she accompanied Ivorian reggae singer Tiken Jah Fakoly on his international tour. Wonda Wendy features in the Surprising Europe tv series which will be broadcast by Al Jazeera later this year.
