Following the film, there will be a debate with activist Lilia Weslaty and Hassouna Mansouri, chaired by Nicolien Zuidgeest. The debate will be about the uprising of the young generation, for whom silence is no longer an option.

Lilia Weslaty is the Tunisian activist from the documentary Zero Silence. She grew up in Tunisia in what she describes as an ‘apolitical’ family that did not dare to speak out against the regime. She has been an active cyber-blogger since 2008, posting (anonymous) short films on the internet about Tunisians who are subjected to torture.

Tunisian-Dutch film critic and writer Hassouna Mansouri studied French literature and philosophy in France and spent years as a lecturer teaching literature and cinema. He has published articles on such well-known cinematographers as Pasolini, Truffaut, Fassbinder and Sembene.

Nicolien Zuidgeest is a writer, journalist, trainer and media consultant. She studied Arabic and gladly testifies to the inspiration she draws from the ties between the Islamic world and Europe.
