When & where?

vrijdag 22 maart 2013 - 20:00

Discussion with Babar Kabir, BRAC Senior Director, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Jan-Willem Vosmeer from Heineken, Rob Schotsman from Royal HaskoningDHV and Henk van Schaik from UNESCO about how they battle the impending global shortage of drinking water.

Two-thirds of the world consists of water. However one-third of its inhabitants do not have access to clean (drinking) water, let alone a shower or other sanitary conveniences. How much longer do we have until water scarcity will start affecting our daily lives as well?

The film is an urgent wake-up call, showing people’s carelessness with drinking water all over the world.

During the discussion will address the underexposed problem of global water shortages, the role that multinationals and governments can play in achieving a positive change, but also the question what we ourselves can do to battle water pollution- and wastage. How long will it take before we all will have to rely on sewage water – and how does this actually taste?

World Water Day 2013
