The Last King of Scotland is a British drama film based on Giles Foden’s novel. The Young Scottish doctor Nicholas Garrigan travels to Uganda where he soon meets the new President, Idi Amin. Amin is a huge Scotland fan and offers Garrigan a senior position in the national health department and becomes one of Amin's closest advisers. Amin promised a golden age for the African nation, but Garrigan starts to notice his increasing paranoia, brutality and xenophobia. When it becomes clear that the dictator is perpetrating mass genocide against the Ugandan people, Garrigan decides he has seen enough.
