His nickname Haiduc means gangster and it matches Nicu’s tough character. He lives in a rough world; he ran away from home aged seven, spent years literally underground, in the sewers of Bucharest, and is addicted to drugs. Now he lives with Raluca. She keeps an eye on the boys that, just like Nicu, came from the streets. He has a bed and is given meals.
