What’s it like to be born into a family of neo-Nazi’s? Little Germans is a search for the root causes of extremist thinking. Interviews with present-day members of right-wing movements are interspersed with a beautiful animation about growing up as a neo-Nazi.

We meet members of right-wing movements such as Pegida and the Identitary movement, who freely talk about their motives, ideas and their own – often very strict – upbringing. Many came to question the dominant view of history in which Germans should feel guilty of their past.

They feel they weren’t allowed to honour their forefathers or to proudly see Germany as ‘an exceptional expression in the world’. In the upbringing of their own children, they want to instil backbone and discipline, and correct decades of destruction of what they think is good about Germany: ‘It has to be rebuilt.’
