Half-Life in Fukushima

Language: Engels

5 years after the nuclear disaster in Fukushima nuclear physicist Wim Turkenburg and his son, filmmaker Sanne Turkenburg, visited the area. They will tell about the damage of the disaster and the impact it had on the local population.

The nuclear power plant 1, named Daiichi, is still leaking thousands of liter of radioactive cooling water that vanishes in the earth. Only 10 percent of the infected ground in the ten kilmeteres around the power plant is cleaned up. Everywhere there are garbage bags with nuclear contaminated excavated soil.
