Stroom The Congo Tribunal

In the film The Congo Tribunal, the Swiss theater director Milo Rau creates a fictional tribunal in search of truth and justice around the deadly conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. With the help of real stakeholders it becomes clear that the country is stuck in a complex web of exploitation, corruption and violence, from which it is difficult to escape. The Congo Tribunal can be seen at the festival in the Camera Justitia competition program.

Artefact made an installation in collaboration with Stroom Den Haag. This consists of, among other things, 26 hours of recordings of the court hearings in Bukavu and Berlin, a web game and VR installation that allows the public to experience a specific case, discussed in the tribunal, in a different way.

The exhibition is open from 10 March to 8 April at Stroom Den Haag on Wednesday to Sunday, between 12 and 17 hours.
