Marjan Minnesma chooses Albatross

Marjan Minnesma is director of the Urgenda Foundation. She studied business administration, philosophy and law and successively worked at Novem, Greenpeace (campaign director), the Institute for Environmental Affairs at the VU and was director of Drift, the Institute for Transitions at Erasmus University.

With her activist organization Urgenda, Marjan Minnesma is co-responsible for the historical climate case against the Dutch state. The state would do too little to prevent dangerous climate change. The judge ruled in favor of Urgenda, and forced the government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by 2020. A world-wide revolutionary ruling.

Minnesma chooses Albatross, a documentary that shows the effect of plastic.
