Combine this afternoon's screening of Truth Detectives with a masterclass by ICMP director Kathryne Bomberger

March 29, 2018

Make your visit to the Movies that Matter Festival today even more special by combining the afternoon screening of Truth Detectives with a masterclass by Kathryne Bomberger, Director-General of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP)!

The film starts at 1.30 PM in the Grote Zaal of Theater aan het Spui and shows us how institutions like the International Criminal Court in The Hague rely more and more on digital data from ordinary citizens to build cases against perpetrators of war crimes and other human rights abuses.

After the end of the screening (3.15 PM) you can stay for the 4 PM masterclass by Kathryne Bomberger. Ms Bomberger will talk about the work of the ICMP, illustrated by excerpts from films in the Camera Justitia programme. Discussion topics include the rights of surviving families, new technologies for finding and identifying missing persons, the cooperation with governments and the empowerment of civil society organisations.

You can attend the masterclass for free in the lobby of Theater aan het Spui, tickets for the film can be purchased here!
