See the consequences of the plastic industry in Albatross

March 30, 2018

On the Midway Islands in the North Pacific, photographer and filmmaker Chris Jordan documents the tragic fate of the hundreds of thousands of Laysan albatrosses that nest there every year and raise their offspring. Because they mistake plastic waste for food, more and more albatrosses meet their demise in a most tragic way.

This important documentary Albatross about the consequences of the plastic industry for the Laysan albatrosses will screen today at 12.30 PM in the Grote Zaal of Theater aan het Spui. After the film, festival director Dirk van der Straaten speaks with director and photographer Chris Jordan about the making of Albatross and his stay on Midway.

It's the last screening of this film during the festival, so get your tickets here!
