14th Free Zone Belgrade Film Festival

The 14th Free Zone Film Festival will screen up to 25 engaged art house films on issues of human rights in Europe and worldwide. Founded in 2005, the festival has been aiming to draw audience’s attention to burning social issues. The 2018 edition, 7 – 12 November, will take place in three cities in Serbia simultaneously: Belgrade, Nis and Novi Sad, and will screen movies in seven cinemas. No less than 26.000 visitors are expected to attend. Primary focus is on addressing day-to day discrimination between majority and minority groups in society. Special attention will be on the 50th anniversary of the 1968 students’ demonstrations. Remembering, forgetting and prosecuting crimes against humanity will be dealt with in a designated master class held by two female film makers, Lisette Orozco and Almudena Carracedo.
