International Human Rights Day

International Human Rights Day

December 10, 2019

On 10 December we celebrate International Human Rights Day. On this day the UN and human rights organizations call attention to their work and various international prizes for human rights work are awarded.

We organize screenings of 6 different Movies that Matter films at more than 45 Dutch embassies around the world, from Nairobi to Washington DC. This year we offer the embassies a film menu consisting of Facing the DragonThe Feeling of Being WatchedLayla M.RafikiThe Trial of Ratko Mladic and / or Unpaved Road to Peace. Do you live outside the Netherlands? Check in with your local embassy to see if a Movies that Matter screening is also being organized in your area.

Want to contribute a bit yourself? Participate in Write for Rights, Amnesty’s global letter-writing campaign and the world’s biggest human rights event. Every December, Amnesty supporters across the globe will write millions of letters for those whose basic human rights are being attacked.
